Overview
A legal collective is seeking a Contract Civil Litigation Attorney with federal licensure to join their expanding team. This contract role involves managing complex civil litigation matters in both state and federal courts within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and federal court documents
- Conduct legal research and develop strategic case approaches
- Represent clients in state and federal court hearings, mediations, and trials
- Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production
- Ensure compliance with federal and state procedural rules and court deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Provide case evaluations and legal recommendations
- Collaborate with internal team members, including case managers and support staff
- Maintain accurate and timely billing records to meet required billable hours
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of legal practice
- Active federal licensure, including Southern District
- Demonstrated experience in civil litigation
- Experience in business law and real estate litigation
- Trial experience
- Ability to meet a minimum of 60 billable hours bi-weekly (120+ hours per month)
- Strong ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling federal litigation matters
- Background in estate planning and/or tax law
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
Work Structure
- Contract position
- Minimum 120+ hours per month required
- Remote work with availability for court appearances as needed
