Overview
Collections & Creditors' Rights Attorney role supporting a growing volume of litigation. This position can be structured as a permanent hire or a flexible, contract-based engagement.
For contract engagements, the initial term is anticipated to be 3–4 months, with sufficient work for up to 30–40 hours a week.
Work is largely remote; hearings and court dates are handled in the relevant jurisdictions where the attorney is licensed and assigned.
Responsibilities
- Manage a docket of consumer collections files from initial filing through judgment and any collection efforts that follow
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other court paperwork in accordance with each jurisdiction’s local rules
- Appear at hearings, conferences, arbitrations, and trials (in person or virtually depending on the venue)
- Negotiate settlements and payment plans directly with opposing counsel and unrepresented defendants

Remote role with the ability to appear in court as needed.

Requirements
- 2+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for experience handling creditors' rights or debt collections
- Working grasp of the FDCPA and the collections and consumer-protection statutes in the states you cover
- Comfort managing a high-volume docket and familiarity with e-filing
- Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to appear in person in local courts as needed
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Outstanding professional references
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling creditors' rights, debt collections, or related consumer collections matters
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Annualized pay ranges from $110,000 to $120,000
- Contract engagement pay: Based on multiple factors, including work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference. Each candidate’s hourly pay rate can affect the employer’s bill rate and candidate competitiveness.
