Commercial Agreements Contract Attorney — Long-Term Temporary (Remote Part Time)
The organization is seeking a long-term temporary attorney to support its in-house legal team and handle a high volume of commercial agreements. Work will primarily focus on the vendor and supplier side, along with other commercial contracts.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, redline, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, mainly vendor, supplier, and procurement contracts (MSAs, services agreements, NDAs, SOWs, amendments, and similar documents)
- Apply company playbooks and AI-assisted review tools (Spellbook, Claude) to deliver fast, consistent, high-quality turnaround
- Spot and escalate non-standard terms and business risks to the legal team
- Partner with business stakeholders across operations, procurement, and finance to keep deals moving
- Help refine playbooks, templates, and AI workflows as contract volume and needs change
Requirements
- J.D. and active bar license in good standing
- 3+ years of commercial contracting experience (in-house or at a law firm)
- Strong vendor/procurement contract experience; energy, oilfield services, or industrial experience is a plus
- Comfortable using AI-powered legal tools, or eager to learn them; experience with Spellbook, Claude, or similar platforms is a plus
- Ability to manage high volume with accuracy, sound judgment, and a practical, business-minded approach
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative style
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $150,000 to $175,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference.
