Overview
A technology-based virtual law firm is seeking an attorney with over 7 years of legal experience in both law firm and in-house legal departments. The role focuses on handling a wide variety of commercial contracts, particularly technology-related agreements. This is a fully remote, part-time contract position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial contracts
- Interface extensively with clients regarding contract drafting and review
- Handle contracts related to technology sectors, with a preference for experience in AI-related agreements
- Manage contracts involving fintech/crypto, data privacy, and intellectual property licensing issues (preferred)
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts
- Experience working with technology-related commercial contracts in both law firm and in-house settings
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain legal issues to nonlawyers
- Outstanding professional references
- Juris Doctor degree from a U.S. accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of residence
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant experience handling contracts related to artificial intelligence
- Experience with fintech/crypto, data privacy, and IP licensing contracts
Position Details
- Role Type: Contract
- Schedule: Part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week
- Location: Remote (anywhere in the United States)
Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized compensation range: $200,000 to $250,000, based on experience, qualifications, credentials, and location
- W2 employment status
- Eligibility for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401(k) plan
