Overview

A technology-based virtual law firm is seeking an attorney with over 7 years of legal experience in both law firm and in-house legal departments. The role focuses on handling a wide variety of commercial contracts, particularly technology-related agreements. This is a fully remote, part-time contract position.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial contracts
  • Interface extensively with clients regarding contract drafting and review
  • Handle contracts related to AI, fintech/crypto, data privacy, and IP licensing (preferred but not required)

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of legal experience drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial contracts
  • Experience with technology-related commercial contracts in both law firm and in-house settings
  • Extensive client interaction experience on contract matters
  • Significant experience with AI-related contracts preferred
  • Experience with fintech/crypto, data privacy, and IP licensing contracts preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials from a U.S. accredited law school
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain legal issues to nonlawyers
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Outstanding professional references
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of residence

Position Details

  • Role Type: Contract
  • Schedule: Part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week)
  • Location: Remote (anywhere in the United States)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annualized compensation range: $200,000 to $250,000, based on experience, qualifications, credentials, and location
  • W2 employee status with eligibility for full benefits when working 20 hours per week, including a Qualified 401(k) plan

  • Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and professional expense stipend
