Overview
This role provides part-time legal support to a lean legal team at a publicly traded company in the nuclear technology space. The attorney will primarily support commercial and government contracting matters, including agreements involving federal and state government entities and the Department of Energy (DOE), as well as commercial agreements with third-party vendors and service providers.
The assignment is expected to start ASAP and last an estimated 2–3 months, or until a full-time employee is brought on (pending headcount approval). The role is fully remote.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with third-party vendors and service providers
- Support federal and state government contracting matters, including agreements involving government entities and the Department of Energy (DOE)
- Handle time-sensitive legal requests independently
- Provide practical, business-minded advice focused on material risks and helping keep matters moving
- Identify and communicate key legal/commercial issues to support contracting decisions
Requirements
- Experienced attorney with strong commercial contracts experience
- Familiarity with federal and/or state government contracting
- Ability to work independently and manage time-sensitive requests
- Comfort providing practical guidance oriented toward material risk and business needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the nuclear or oil & gas industry
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate expected to be between $113 and $123
- The rate range is an estimate; compensation will be based on qualifications, skillset, relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law
