Overview
A national commercial real estate services team is seeking an experienced Title Underwriter to provide underwriting support and expertise related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. This role involves applying underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits and offering guidance on real estate settlement services.
Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
- Guide company personnel in performing real estate settlement services.
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines following established company processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (Law Degree) required.
- Admission to practice law in the state of employment.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
- 5-7 years of title underwriting experience.
- Familiarity with real estate law.
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of real estate title and settlement processes.
- General knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
- General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policy issuance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and make decisive decisions.
- Detail-oriented with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow up promptly.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to think abstractly and develop creative solutions.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $97,700.00 - $130,300.00 annually.
- Pay is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.

Location
- Hybrid role based in Seattle, WA National Commercial Services Office.
- Remote work may be considered for candidates outside the local area.
