Overview
A leading organization in the real estate title insurance and settlement services industry is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Counsel to join their National Solutions team. This role focuses on supporting and authorizing underwriting decisions related to commercial real estate transactions, helping to deliver innovative solutions to customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting support, legal counsel, and authorization to company personnel and customers regarding the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
- Guide company personnel in performing real estate settlement services.
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines following established company processes.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (Law Degree) required.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
- 5-7 years of title underwriting experience; commercial real estate experience preferred.
- Familiarity with real estate law, including federal and state regulations.
- Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and business acumen.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to provide alternative solutions and communicate difficult information tactfully.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and make decisive decisions.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Capacity for abstract thinking and creative problem-solving.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $97,700.00 - $130,300.00 annually.
- Pay is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
