Overview

This role provides underwriting support and expertise related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. The position involves utilizing underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance and provide guidance in real estate settlement services. This is a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
  • Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
  • Guide company personnel in performing real estate settlement services.
  • Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.

Requirements

  • Law degree required.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of employment.
  • 5-7 years of title underwriting experience.
  • Familiarity with real estate law.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement processes.
  • General knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and make decisive decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow up timely.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think abstractly and develop creative solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $97,700.00 - $130,300.00 annually.
  • Pay is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
