Overview

A modern, fully distributed law firm is seeking an associate attorney with 5-8 years of experience to join a growing litigation practice. This national, full-service firm offers high-performing attorneys the freedom to shape and grow their practices, own their career paths, and manage direct client relationships without the bureaucracy and overhead typical of traditional Big Law.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex commercial litigation matters independently.
  • Manage significant portions of cases, including drafting dispositive motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and supporting trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
  • Work on high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes alongside experienced litigators.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing timely updates and practical recommendations.
  • Collaborate with a national litigation team on sophisticated business disputes across a wide range of industries.
  • Exercise sound judgment and proactively identify issues and solutions without close supervision.
  • Manage multiple active matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Trial experience.
  • Good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Comfortable with multi-jurisdictional litigation and cross-border matters beyond breach of contract.
  • Experience litigating in federal courts.
  • Ability to produce thoughtful, concise, and high-quality work product with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly responsive, organized, and able to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in business, finance, or other commercially focused disciplines.
  • Located in the Central or Eastern Standard time zone.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000, based on experience.
  • Production bonuses starting at 1250 billed hours annually.
