Overview

This role is for a Compliance Attorney contractor working remotely within the United States. The position involves applying legal expertise to support the development of AI systems by reviewing and refining AI-generated legal content focused on U.S. compliance and regulatory matters. Prior experience with AI is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review, and annotate legal and compliance documents to aid AI system development.
  • Draft detailed legal explanations and responses addressing complex compliance and regulatory issues.
  • Review AI-generated legal outputs for accuracy, legal reasoning, logical consistency, and compliance with U.S. standards.
  • Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams to provide expertise on compliance and regulatory topics.
  • Develop scenario-based legal questions and answers reflecting current laws, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Identify legal ambiguities, regulatory risks, and potential issues in AI-generated content, offering recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide feedback to enhance AI training processes and improve legal dataset quality.

Requirements

  • Expertise in U.S. compliance law.
  • Strong skills in legal document analysis, legal writing, and drafting.
  • Experience conducting regulatory research.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. laws and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active attorney license in good standing in the United States.
  • 3 to 15 years of recent experience practicing compliance law in the U.S.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately explain complex legal concepts.
  • Current experience practicing U.S. compliance law.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is preferred.
  • Experience teaching law or legal writing at an accredited law school is a plus.
  • Editorial experience with a law review or legal journal is highly valued.
