Overview
This role is for a Compliance Attorney contractor working remotely within the United States. The position involves applying legal expertise to support the development of AI systems by reviewing and refining AI-generated legal content focused on U.S. compliance and regulatory matters. Prior experience with AI is not required.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, review, and annotate legal documents and compliance materials to aid AI system development.
- Draft detailed legal explanations, rationales, and responses addressing complex compliance and regulatory issues.
- Review AI-generated legal outputs for accuracy, legal reasoning, logical consistency, and compliance with U.S. standards.
- Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams to provide expertise on compliance and regulatory topics.
- Develop scenario-based legal questions and answers reflecting current laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Identify legal ambiguities, regulatory risks, and potential issues in AI-generated content, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Provide feedback to enhance AI training processes and improve the quality of legal datasets.
Requirements
- Expertise in U.S. compliance law.
- Experience with legal document analysis.
- Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
- Proficiency in regulatory research.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. laws and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active attorney license in good standing in the United States.
- 3 to 15 years of recent experience practicing compliance law in the U.S.
- Experience clearly explaining complex legal concepts in writing and speech.
- Current practice in U.S. compliance law.
- Judicial clerkship experience is preferred.
- Experience teaching law or legal writing at an accredited law school is a plus.
- Editorial experience with a law review or legal journal is highly valued.
