Overview

This is a full-time, remote position open to applicants located on the West or East Coast of the U.S. The organization is seeking an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join the New Business Intake team. This role requires direct law-firm conflicts experience, including analyzing conflict reports, applying ethical rules, coordinating resolutions, and collaborating with Risk Management, General Counsel, or Intake teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex conflict reports and exercise independent judgment to identify potential conflicts of interest involving new business, lateral hires, and requests for proposals.
  • Conduct research on jurisdictional conflict and ethical rules to determine conflict resolution strategies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to gather necessary information for conflict analysis.
  • Independently analyze and resolve conflicts.
  • Prepare clear communications to attorneys outlining potential issues and recommendations to facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Request and maintain supporting documentation to clear actual or potential conflicts.
  • Draft consents and conflict waivers ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Assist in managing client guidelines related to conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and ethical obligations.
  • Prepare and implement ethical walls.
  • Assist in developing and implementing conflicts policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and training to New Business Intake Analysts and firm administrative staff to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Stay current on trends and developments in legal and ethical rules related to conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
  • Coordinate with the conflicts team to update and maintain the conflicts database.
  • Respond promptly to conflicts-related inquiries from attorneys and staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the bar association of the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on conflicts experience in a law firm environment (e.g., Conflicts Attorney, Conflicts Analyst, Risk Management Attorney, or Professional Responsibility role).
  • In-depth knowledge of conflicts of interest rules, legal ethics, and professional responsibility.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Intapp Open, Intapp Walls, and other relevant legal technology tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $102,000 - $150,000, determined by factors including location, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
