Overview
A national law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Litigation Partner to join its Litigation group, focusing on design professional clients such as architects, engineers, and surveyors. This is a full-time partnership opportunity offering autonomy, flexibility, and long-term growth potential without the constraints of traditional large-firm models. The firm operates on a remote-first basis with the ability to work from anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific Northwest or San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
- Represent design professionals in construction litigation involving claims of professional negligence.
- Handle contract claims related to design changes that allegedly caused additional costs or schedule delays.
- Manage cases involving construction defects and bodily injury/wrongful death claims.
- Conduct pre-trial work including substantive and contentious motion practice, discovery, and collaboration with expert witnesses.
- Participate in trial proceedings in federal, state, or tribal courts, and/or arbitration.
- Work with insurance carriers and handle coverage issues (experience preferred).
- Develop and maintain client relationships and grow the practice.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience post-bar admission.
- Experience representing design professionals in construction law.
- Litigation experience including trial and pre-trial work.
- Prior experience at AmLaw 200, Law360 400, respected regional, or sophisticated boutique firms preferred.
- Ability to appear in court or before agencies in licensed jurisdictions as required.
- A portable book of business of $350,000 is preferred but not required.

Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation is performance-based under an Eat What You Kill model.
- Partners receive 30% of collected fees on matters they originate plus 50% of collected fees attributable to their personal time worked.
- No cap on earning potential; estimated annual compensation ranges from $150,000 to $2,500,000+, depending on individual performance and practice economics.
- Tiered benefit options are available, which may include group insurance programs, retirement savings options, professional liability coverage, and operational and administrative support.
