Overview
This fully remote role supports contract management and legal operations for a service-oriented organization. The Contracts Specialist II - Legal independently prepares, reviews, and coordinates the execution of standard and moderately complex contracts.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise standard and moderately complex contracts and legal documents.
- Perform initial substantive review of third-party contract templates and identify non-standard provisions.
- Collaborate with attorneys and business stakeholders to support contract negotiations.
- Conduct legal and factual research on contractual provisions, regulations, and policies.
- Prepare contract summaries, issue lists, and redlines for attorney review.
- Maintain contract files, documentation, version control, and execution records.
- Monitor contract status, workflows, renewals, amendments, and expiration dates.
- Assist with updates to contract templates, clause libraries, and legal forms.
- Respond to internal inquiries regarding contract processes and standard language.
- Participate in initiatives to improve contract management and operational efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, Paralegal Studies, or related field.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, or contract administration.
- Experience drafting and reviewing commercial contracts preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial contract principles, legal terminology, and contract lifecycle management.
- Ability to identify contractual risks and recognize issues requiring attorney review.
- Strong legal writing, editing, proofreading, and document review skills.
- Analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with attorneys and business clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems (e.g., DocuSign CLM, Legisway).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, managed care, or regulated industries.
- Paralegal or contract management certification.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,800 to $80,000.
