Overview
This role provides legal counsel for commercial real estate services business lines, with a primary focus on brokerage services. Work is available remotely or in one of the company’s U.S. offices (location options listed below).
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to a range of business lines, using sound judgment to resolve legal matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to service line professionals to help them achieve business goals.
- Negotiate, review, and draft contracts.
- Support risk management and provide general legal advice.
- Assist from time to time with review of internal shared services documentation, including leases and vendor agreements.
- Review internal shared services documentation related to vendor agreements and other procurement documents as needed.
- Support senior legal colleagues and business leadership with research and other projects as required.
- Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships across the organization to align on objectives and service level agreements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing.
- 3 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in-house within commercial real estate or a related industry.
- Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically, with a focus on practical client advice regarding legal risks.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements and transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-house experience (particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry) preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range
Approximate Compensation Range for this Role: $160,000 to $185,000
Pursuant to local law, compensation ranges vary by role, level, and location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position across all national locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
