Overview

A growing legal team is seeking a highly motivated and versatile Corporate Counsel to support legal operations, contracting, and regulatory functions. This role requires a blend of law firm and in-house experience, ideally within high-growth companies, with the ability to advise on a broad range of legal and business topics. Experience in fintech and cryptocurrency sectors is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including client services, vendor contracts, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead privacy law compliance efforts (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), integrating data protection standards into infrastructure and processes.
  • Manage responses to subpoenas, law enforcement requests, and regulatory inquiries, including drafting documentation and liaising with senior government officials.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on employment matters such as hiring practices, employee relations, and policy adherence.
  • Advise on financial regulations, AML/KYC requirements, and cryptocurrency-specific legislation.
  • Monitor international legal developments to support global expansion and assess foreign regulatory impacts.
  • Assist in managing legal risks, including litigation, and conduct legal research to train internal stakeholders on evolving legal topics.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 4–6 years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience.
  • Proven expertise in commercial contract drafting, privacy law, and financial or fintech regulations.
  • Experience managing subpoenas and government requests.
  • Familiarity with international law and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills with an ownership mindset to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, personal responsibility, and ethical judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience within fintech and cryptocurrency sectors.
