Overview

This role provides legal counsel for commercial real estate services business lines, with a primary focus on brokerage services. Responsibilities include contract negotiation, review and drafting, risk management, and general legal advice.

Work is available remotely or in one of the employer’s U.S. offices, with listed locations including WFH, Atlanta, DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to a range of business lines, using sound judgment to solve legal matters.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to service line professionals to support their goals.
  • Review internal shared services documentation from time to time, including vendor agreements and other procurement documents.
  • Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects as required.
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure shared understanding of objectives and service level agreements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing.
  • 3 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in-house within commercial real estate or a related industry.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset with a focus on practical client advice on legal risks.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills; demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements & transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience, particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry, preferred but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range

  • Approximate Compensation Range: $160,000 to $185,000
  • Compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location; the posted range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all national locations.

Bonus

Location
