Overview
A leading global data and technology organization is seeking a team-oriented attorney to provide legal support for its North American consumer services business, headquartered in Costa Mesa, California. This role reports to the SVP, Head of Legal – Consumer Services in the North America Law Department.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for day-to-day operations of a $1.7B+ consumer services business serving over 80 million consumer members
- Advise on a broad range of legal matters related to financial wellness, credit education, and identity protection products
- Assess and interpret existing and emerging laws and regulations, including those related to financial services, consumer protection, and data privacy
- Conduct legal risk assessments and regulatory reviews for new products, features, and marketing initiatives
- Support the development and launch of innovative consumer products such as digital financial tools and insurance services
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements including strategic alliances, FinTech partnerships, and financial services contracts
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the evolving legal and regulatory landscape impacting digital consumer financial services
- Collaborate closely with business leaders, general managers, and cross-functional teams to provide proactive, solution-oriented legal guidance
- Contribute to a high-impact team focused on delivering financial empowerment and innovation
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting
- Experience with financial services and FinTech regulations and/or transactions
- Demonstrated high standards and diligence in handling legal matters
- Experience managing legal issues in highly regulated industries
- Proven ability to develop practical strategies for complex business issues
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $153,075 - $275,535, with individual pay determined by work location, skills, experience, and education
