Overview
This role is for a Corporate Counsel specializing in Global Legal Commercial Contracts. The position involves providing expert legal support for global client contracts, focusing on complex commercial leases and service agreements. The individual will work independently within their expertise and handle complex matters under the guidance of senior legal leadership.
Responsibilities
- Structure, review, and negotiate commercial agreements across all regions, including commercial lease documents, master service agreements, sales orders, change orders, and other complex contracts.
- Manage risk and ensure business and compliance requirements are accurately reflected in client agreements.
- Analyze various client contractual issues involving multiple regions, clients, and contracts.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from all departments regarding contractual obligations and commitments.
- Advise management on complex client matters, delivering clear and persuasive messages tailored to different audiences, including risks related to contracts, regulatory, compliance, financial, and legal areas.
- Interact professionally with clients, internal departments, and corporate affiliates worldwide.
- Address demands from multiple internal client groups efficiently.
- Assist in developing and implementing contract procedures and templates to improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Multiple years of relevant legal experience combining corporate law firm and in-house roles.
- Experience in the data center, real estate, or technology industries is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English is required.
- Significant experience in client contracts and/or commercial leasing.
- Advanced professional knowledge to resolve complex issues creatively, with occasional consultation from senior legal management.
- Ability to contribute to company objectives and develop effective solutions.
- Strong conceptual thinking to understand complex issues and implications.
- Extensive experience in global commercial contracting, including drafting, understanding terms, and negotiation.
- Developed business acumen with the ability to combine legal and business analysis practically.
- Ability to advise key stakeholders on complex matters, adapting communication style to different audiences.
- Ability to work independently within core competencies with review at critical points.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize multiple objectives, and meet deadlines.
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Law (LLB)
- Fully qualified lawyer
Compensation & Benefits (US Applicants Only)
- Remote position requiring reliable internet and electricity; monthly stipend provided for remote work expenses and personal mobile device use.
- Base salary range: $185,000 - $225,000, depending on experience, education, and location.
- Eligibility for annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
