Overview

This role provides legal counsel for various commercial real estate services business lines, with a focus on brokerage services. The position can be performed remotely or from one of the employer’s offices located in the U.S. region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to a range of business lines, using sound judgment to actively solve legal matters.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to service line professionals to help them achieve their goals.
  • Review internal shared services documentation from time to time, including vendor agreements and other procurement documents.
  • Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects as required.
  • Develop positive, collaborative relationships across the organization to support shared understanding of objectives and service level agreements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing.
  • 3 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in-house within commercial real estate or a related industry.
  • In-house experience (particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry) preferred but not required.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic approach focused on practical client advice regarding legal risks.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements and transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (preferred alignment).
  • In-house experience, particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $160,000 to $185,000
  • Compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The posted range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position across all national locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Location

Work remotely or at one of the employer’s offices located in the U.S. region (Area/Location Specific: WFH, Atlanta, DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco).
