Overview

This role provides legal counsel for commercial real estate services business lines, with a focus on brokerage services. Responsibilities include contract negotiation, review and drafting, risk management, and general legal advice. The position supports senior legal colleagues and business leadership, and involves building positive, collaborative relationships across the organization.

Work location is remote or in one of the company offices located in the U.S. region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel to a range of business lines, using sound judgment to solve legal matters.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to service line professionals to support their goals.
  • Review internal shared services documentation from time to time, including vendor agreements and other procurement documents.
  • Support senior legal colleagues and business line leadership with research and other projects as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive, collaborative relationships across the organization to ensure alignment on objectives and service level agreements.
  • Assist with lease and vendor agreement review as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member of at least one State Bar in good standing.
  • 3 to 8 years of legal experience, preferably in-house within commercial real estate or a related industry.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic approach focused on practical client advice regarding legal risks.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and project management skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of general commercial law and real estate agreements and transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience, particularly within the commercial real estate or professional services industry (preferred but not required).

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range (Area/Location Specific: WFH, Atlanta, DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco): $160,000 to $185,000

Compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range shown reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all national locations. Individual pay within the range is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
