Overview

A leader in the Technical Services sector is seeking a Corporate Counsel to provide business-aligned legal guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. This role involves partnering with leadership, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations. The position supports responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a Technical Services environment.

Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate agreements with clients and vendors
  • Provide legal and business counsel to resolve internal issues
  • Manage external counsel when necessary
  • Ensure all agreements comply with corporate risk parameters and policies
  • Lead and participate in various department projects

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of legal work experience post-law school graduation
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Active State Bar membership
  • Combination of law firm and in-house experience, with a focus on transactional IP/IT matters
  • Experience in litigation including mediation and arbitration
  • Skilled in drafting settlement agreements
  • Knowledge of compliance with government contracting regulations

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with state and federal government contracting (FAR/DFARS)
  • Expertise in complex master outsourcing services agreements
  • Familiarity with software licensing agreements and SaaS agreements
  • Understanding of public sector procurement terms
  • Conflict resolution and litigation experience
  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and related legal implications
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property and IT laws and regulations
