Overview

A global biotechnology organization is seeking a Corporate Legal Counsel to join their mid-sized in-house legal team. The team handles U.S. legal and compliance matters and offers opportunities for professional growth. This role is based onsite in Piscataway, New Jersey, requiring presence four days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts and provide legal support to U.S. business units
  • Conduct legal research on assigned issues using platforms such as LexisNexis and AI tools
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Secretary Office to support corporate organizational matters for U.S. legal entities, including verification and documentation of organizational structures
  • Monitor and update developments in laws, regulations, and relevant cases related to biotechnology, technology, life sciences, and employment/HR compliance
  • Manage litigation cases, including collecting information, participating in internal investigations, and assisting with outside counsel management
  • Coordinate with HR and external law firms on employment-related immigration and visa matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising attorney

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • 5-10 years of legal experience as a New Jersey licensed attorney, either in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong motivation and commitment to foundational legal work and professional growth
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and develop solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Compensation and Location

  • Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience
  • Location: Piscataway, New Jersey (onsite, 4 days per week)
