Overview
A remote contract opportunity is available for a Corporate/M&A Attorney to review, analyze, and annotate complex corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and financial documents. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with data privacy standards and regulatory frameworks, contributing to the development of AI systems by providing high-quality, real-world legal input. Prior experience in AI is not required; expertise in corporate law and financial services is essential.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and annotate corporate, M&A, and financial documents to ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory standards.
- Identify and address personally identifiable information (PII) exposure risks, documenting best practices for anonymization and sensitive data handling.
- Provide guidance on structural identifiability of content to maintain compliance while preserving data utility for AI training.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the creation of training materials and resources reflecting current regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Maintain detailed documentation of compliance measures and data handling procedures for audit and review purposes.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in a state bar association.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, or financial services with a focus on compliance and data privacy.
- Strong understanding of PII exposure risks, anonymization techniques, and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable data privacy laws.
- Ability to analyze complex legal and financial documents and extract key compliance insights applicable to AI training.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document best practices and provide clear guidance to non-legal stakeholders.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $40 - $70 per hour.
- Fully remote position allowing work from anywhere.
