Overview
A litigation counsel position is available to support a direct-to-homeowner solar sales and financing business. The role involves working within a legal team of approximately 20 professionals and reports to Senior Counsel. The position is based in Irvine, California, with remote work considered for exceptional candidates. The legal team is expected to grow rapidly, offering opportunities for career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Provide litigation support related to attorney demand letters, lawsuits, arbitrations, and regulatory matters including subpoenas for the residential consumer business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice.
- Resolve consumer disputes by negotiating favorable settlements directly with opposing counsel.
- Manage and provide strategic direction to outside counsel on litigation matters.
- Develop and implement plans for offensive litigation to recover defaulted funds.
- Handle other assigned legal matters as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling litigation matters in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and motivation to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to distinguish material from non-material issues.
- Proactive approach to completing assignments timely with minimal supervision.
- Membership in at least one state bar.
