Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking a highly motivated Counsel to join its Law Department. This role involves providing legal support and guidance on matters related to Medicare Advantage Part C health plan operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support for Medicare Advantage lines of business.
  • Support delegate contracting by drafting, reviewing, and advising on agreements with delegated entities to ensure compliance with CMS and state requirements.
  • Advise on CMS provider credentialing and eligibility requirements.
  • Provide legal support for provider quality investigations and Peer Review Committee activities.
  • Support Medicare product development and operations, including benefit design and administration, licensure, bid development, and product filings.
  • Collaborate and consult with leaders across the organization to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and mitigate external risks.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Knowledge of CMS regulations, Medicare Advantage, or healthcare provider requirements.
  • Experience in health law, contract drafting and negotiations, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Additional Information

  • This is a remote position; however, occasional travel to company offices for training or meetings may be required.
  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $138,900 - $191,000 per year, varying based on geographic location, skills, experience, education, and certifications.
  • Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
