This role sits within the Human Rights and Court of Protection department, focusing on Court of Protection matters—particularly health and welfare.
Responsibilities
- Manage Court of Protection (welfare) cases from instruction to conclusion
- Advise clients, litigation friends, and family members
- Prepare applications, statements, and court documentation
- Represent clients at hearings and liaise with counsel where appropriate
- Work with local authorities, medical professionals, and other agencies
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid requirements and funding processes
Requirements
- Qualified in England & Wales
- Experience in Court of Protection welfare work
- Strong knowledge of legal aid processes and compliance
- Confident managing your own caseload
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to access to justice and client care
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public law or community care law
- Advocacy experience
- Experience working with vulnerable clients
