Overview

A rapidly growing law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to join their expanding Texas practice. This role offers meaningful responsibility, significant courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to grow within a high-performance legal team focused exclusively on criminal defense.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients charged with misdemeanors and felony offenses throughout Texas.
  • Handle a variety of criminal matters including DWI, assault, drug offenses, theft crimes, domestic violence allegations, probation violations, and other criminal cases.
  • Conduct client meetings and develop case-specific defense strategies.
  • Appear regularly in court for hearings, motions, negotiations, and other proceedings.
  • Review discovery, investigate facts, identify legal issues, and build strong defenses.
  • Negotiate effectively with prosecutors to secure favorable resolutions when appropriate.
  • Prepare cases for trial and advocate aggressively when litigation is necessary.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
  • Criminal defense experience preferred.
  • Strong courtroom presence and confidence in handling hearings and negotiations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with clients facing stressful situations.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing a substantial caseload.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
