A boutique law firm is seeking an experienced litigator passionate about constitutional law and criminal defense. Responsibilities
- Interface with clients and conduct meetings
- Prepare legal documents including motions, pleadings, memorandums, and correspondence for criminal cases
- Manage all stages of criminal cases from investigation through trial and sentencing
- Demonstrate significant court experience handling legal proceedings
- Participate in local, state, and national legal conferences for continued education
- Manage and meet case deadlines to ensure successful outcomes
- Analyze, collaborate, and implement trial strategies to achieve client objectives
- Attend trainings and pursue ongoing professional growth
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of criminal law experience in Federal or State systems, or equivalent felony jury trial experience
- Proficient in all aspects of criminal law including adult and juvenile cases, felony and misdemeanor charges, and pre-charge negotiation
- Skilled in bond, risk assessment, mitigation, case strategy, motion practice, discovery, trial proceedings, and sentencing advocacy
- Admission to the Michigan State Bar required
- Must attend court appearances in Michigan
- Tech-savvy or willing to learn new technologies
- Effective and clear communication skills
- Ability to track and meet minimum billable requirements
- Excellent and creative legal writing skills
- Strong commitment to the Constitution and client advocacy
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience
