Overview
A legal staffing organization is seeking attorneys with experience in data center and infrastructure projects for flexible contract opportunities. These roles support clients involved in data center infrastructure projects or operations, particularly in light of the growing demand driven by AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate and structure data center buildouts, real estate transactions, capital equipment purchases, and sourcing of hardware and raw materials
- Negotiate power-related agreements such as interconnection contracts, electricity service agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), gas supply and transport contracts, water rights, and regulatory matters related to ERCOT
- Support procurement and commercial contracting for data center operations
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, design-build engineering services agreements, and related project documentation
- Advise on financing structures, tax incentives, complex lease arrangements, permitting workflows, easement and land use transactions, and project finance components
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, business development, and finance teams to ensure legal terms align with technical and commercial requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, including work on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience with data center buildouts and related commercial transactions
- Strong negotiation skills in power and utility agreements
- Familiarity with construction contracts and project documentation
- Ability to advise on financing, tax, leasing, permitting, and land use matters
- Excellent academic credentials and strong professional references

Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay range: $120,000 to $250,000+ (full-time equivalent), based on experience and qualifications
- Contract professionals are typically W2 employees eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week
