Overview
A technology company specializing in connected operations is seeking an experienced litigator to join their in-house legal team. This role involves managing a diverse range of high-stakes litigation, compliance, and privacy matters for a rapidly growing global business. The position requires advising cross-functional teams on litigation strategy, managing outside counsel, and developing scalable legal processes.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US, excluding Alaska, Austin Metro, Boulder Metro, California, Chicago Metro, Connecticut, Dallas Metro, Denver Metro, Houston Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Seattle Metro, and Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial litigation, including discovery responses, drafting legal briefs, witness interviews and preparation, and settlement negotiations.
- Provide counsel on customer data privacy and protection, handling subpoenas and legal requests for customer data, and managing related litigation in civil and criminal courts.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential disputes while advising business clients on risk mitigation.
- Enhance the eDiscovery program by implementing automation and AI, establishing defensible discovery guidelines, evaluating communication platforms, and controlling external legal spend.
- Innovate legal processes by identifying risks and procedural gaps, designing scalable strategies, and leveraging technology to improve workflows.
- Monitor commercial litigation trends and provide actionable legal insights to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience in a law firm, government agency, or corporate legal department; prior in-house experience at a technology company is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and complex litigation portfolios in a fast-paced environment.
- Broad experience with legal risk management, deep legal research, and navigating regulatory compliance and data privacy frameworks relevant to commercial disputes.
- Direct experience managing commercial disputes, regulatory inquiries, or adversarial legal matters from inception through resolution or trial.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively while maintaining an open-minded approach.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary range: $119,297.50 to $160,400 USD, varying based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
