Overview

An organization is seeking experienced Privacy Lawyers to collaborate with Fortune 100 to Fortune 500 clients across various industries. The role involves delivering expert legal advice on privacy compliance, updating policies, and drafting agreements aligned with global standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on privacy compliance requirements and identify opportunities to improve privacy policies for Canadian and multinational corporations.
  • Review, draft, and update privacy policies; negotiate and draft master services agreements in accordance with global privacy requirements.
  • Support the development of guidelines, training, and tools to enhance privacy accountability and compliance.
  • Collaborate with and advise business clients directly, offering guidance and practical solutions for corporate policies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 7+ years of experience with exceptional academic and law firm credentials; in-house experience is a plus.
  • Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Substantive data protection and data privacy experience with in-depth knowledge of Canadian, U.S., and EU privacy statutes, including GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Privacy Act.
  • Experience providing regulatory and policy advice in data protection, privacy law, and related information law areas.
