Overview
An established legal services organization is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer and certified privacy professionals to support a diverse range of clients across industries. This role involves joining one of the largest privacy teams in the UK and providing flexible engagement support to in-house legal teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR, UK GDPR, ePrivacy, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements containing data protection and data-sharing provisions, such as Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), intra-group agreements, and vendor contracts.
- Lead key privacy deliverables including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), data mapping exercises, Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) responses, and the development of internal privacy policies and procedures.
- Support the design and implementation of privacy frameworks, data governance programs, and compliance processes across client organizations, collaborating closely with legal, compliance, and business teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction, or an experienced privacy professional with demonstrable expertise in data protection, privacy, or information law.
- Several years of relevant experience typically gained in private practice or in-house environments supporting commercial and data-driven organizations.
- Strong working knowledge of core data protection regimes including GDPR, UK GDPR, and ePrivacy, with awareness of broader regulatory developments.
- Solid understanding of data lifecycle management, data governance, and risk management.
- Ability to deliver clear, pragmatic, and commercially aligned legal advice.
