Overview
A leading organization in the Finance & Insurance sector is seeking a Director, Associate General Counsel (Commercial Legal) to join their team. This role involves driving significant impact across key initiatives, partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes, and working closely with stakeholders to execute strategic priorities and scale performance. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution within a high-growth environment.
Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $302,090 – $355,400 annually
Responsibilities
- Negotiate innovative, customized agreements with key partners in finance and cryptocurrency sectors
- Provide clear legal advice and assess risks in complex transactional environments
- Collaborate with diverse teams to address challenges and expedite deal closures
- Develop scalable strategies for mitigating risk and facilitating business growth
- Proactively identify potential issues and implement creative solutions in business transactions
- Serve as a trusted leader and partner within the Commercial Legal team
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree with a current license to practice law in a U.S. state or international jurisdiction
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant transactional experience, either in-house or at a leading law firm
- Strong interest and knowledge in digital currency and blockchain technology
- Exceptional commercial drafting, negotiation skills, and sound business judgment
- Proven experience structuring complex transactions and agreements in technology, payments, or finance sectors
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities
- Hands-on approach with willingness to engage in both strategic and operational tasks
- Ability to leverage generative AI tools and stay current with technological advancements
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with contract management systems and negotiation software (e.g., DocuSign, Adobe Sign)
- Familiarity with financial analysis tools such as Excel and specialized financial modeling software
- Knowledge of legal compliance frameworks related to digital currency standards and blockchain technology
