Overview
This role involves serving as a Personal Injury Protection (PIP)/No-Fault Attorney within a legal team focused on defending both insured individuals and the organization. The position requires managing a diverse caseload related to no-fault claims, arbitrations, and mediations, while staying current on evolving laws and regulations to maintain effective and compliant defense strategies. The role is fully remote with minimal court appearances.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of PIP/no-fault litigation from case inception through resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Conduct Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Examinations Under Oath (EUOs) and prepare detailed reports focusing on SIU and PIP matters.
- Review new file assignments, analyze evidence, develop case strategies, and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Conduct AAA no-fault arbitrations and try cases as needed, including preparing witnesses and clients for testimony.
- Maintain regular communication with claim business partners to provide updates on case status, strategy conferences, and pre-trial reports.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize legal strategies.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree.
- Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
- Successful completion of courses in legal research, writing, and analysis.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction, preparing summaries, and maintaining records.
- Knowledge of legal ethics and professional conduct standards.
- Basic negotiation skills for client interactions and settlement discussions.
- Must be within commutable distance to courthouses throughout New York.

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $70,100.00 - $121,475.00, based on experience and qualifications.

Work Environment
- This is a 100% remote position.
