Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Attorney with strong writing skills and sound judgment to support the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). This position assists in the adjudication of program civil rights complaints for USDA. Prior federal-level experience writing Final Agency Decision letters (FADs) is required.
This is a full-time, 40 hours per week role with eligibility for benefits through the employer.

Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare final agency decisions (FADs) — primary function of the role
- Review Reports of Investigation (ROIs) for legal sufficiency
- Assist with processing EEO complaints, both informal and formal
- Process post-closure compliance and appeal work
- Draft formal and complex legal documents, including:
- Accept/dismissal letters
- Appeal documents
- Counselor’s reports
- Complaint status memorandums
- Conduct legal research and perform legal editing
- Review facts and case law
Security Clearance Level
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Public Trust Clearance
- Must be a US Citizen
Qualifications & Requirements
- JD required
- Must be barred in a US State or Territory
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a lawyer required
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Federal sector civil rights matters and/or processing federal sector EEO complaints required
- Minimum of three (3) years writing Final Agency Decision reports at the federal level
- Knowledge of:
- Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
- Rehabilitation Act of 1973
- Age Discrimination in Employment Act
- Equal Pay Act
- Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act
- Equal Credit Opportunity Act of 1974
- Exceptional writing skills, along with strong legal research and legal editing ability
- Must be able to provide references and a writing sample during the interview process
