A plaintiff-side employment law firm specializing exclusively in employment-related matters such as sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, wage/hour issues, and class actions is seeking an experienced employment litigation attorney. The firm focuses on workers' rights and emphasizes taking cases to trial. Responsibilities

  • Promptly prosecute cases through written and oral discovery from case inception through trial.
  • Conduct fact investigation, legal research and writing, propound and respond to discovery, and review documents.
  • Maintain regular, effective, and courteous communication with clients, experts, and defense counsel.
  • Draft necessary motions and participate in informal discovery conferences.
  • Engage in settlement discussions, negotiations, and attend mediations.
  • Actively participate in jury trials and arbitration hearings.
  • Manage court deadlines and calendar effectively.

Requirements

  • 3-8 years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience.
  • Proficient legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to autonomously prosecute employment cases from inception through trial.
  • Experience taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing motions, and handling discovery independently.
  • Trial experience is highly preferred.
  • Interest in employment law, including individual FEHA/wrongful termination cases and/or wage and hour class actions.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
