Overview
A national estate planning and tax law firm is seeking an Estate Planning Attorney to join their team. The firm serves individuals and families across all 50 states through a technology-enabled legal platform and partners with leading Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms and financial advisors to provide sophisticated estate planning services.
This position offers a base salary range of $130,000 to $160,000 with no billable hour requirement. Candidates from associate to senior level are encouraged to apply, with higher compensation available for those with deep experience in complex estate and trust planning and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with financial advisors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual client meetings to gather information, clarify goals, and present tailored estate planning strategies
- Draft and review estate planning documents including wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, and related instruments
- Lead client and advisor meetings with professionalism and clarity
- Collaborate with financial advisors, internal team members, and an of-counsel attorney network across all 50 states
- Stay current on federal and state estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws
- Advise clients on asset titling, beneficiary designations, and trust funding
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial advisors and their leadership teams
- Respond promptly and professionally to client and advisor inquiries
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one state bar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate and trust planning; more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply
- Strong knowledge of estate planning and trust funding; experience with high-net-worth planning is a plus
- Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to clearly explain complex planning concepts
- Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, drafting, and writing skills
- Comfortable working in a technology-enabled legal practice
