Overview
A global immigration firm is seeking a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join their Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) team supporting the Santa Monica office. Remote candidates will be considered, with preference for those able to work Pacific Time Zone hours. The firm provides corporate global visa services in over 100 countries and has offices across multiple U.S. cities and Shanghai.
Responsibilities
- Develop and expand knowledge of U.S. immigration law through provided resources and training
- Gain deeper understanding of requirements and case processing for various non-immigrant visa types, including H-1B, TN, B, and L visas
- Draft and organize forms and documents as directed by Team Managers
- Communicate with clients regarding visa instructions, approval notices, and welcome packages alongside attorneys and senior team members
- Assist legal and administrative teams in requesting and organizing documents for new processes
- Process and organize government correspondence such as receipt notices, approval notices, and requests for evidence
- Accurately enter data into internal data management platforms
- Perform other projects as assigned by Team Managers or attorneys
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record
- 3-5 years of experience in business immigration law
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in office software with a willingness to adapt to new technologies
- Clear and professional communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000 per year, depending on location and experience
