Overview
This role involves joining a New York-based legal team specializing in real estate and default services. The organization is seeking an experienced Paralegal to primarily manage third-party foreclosure sales and support all related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Oversee third-party sales, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal procedures
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of foreclosure sales, including pre-sale preparations and post-sale processes
- Prepare and file legal documents related to foreclosure sales, including motions, official notices, deeds, transfer/closing documents, and miscellaneous correspondence
- Conduct thorough post-sale title clearance and address any issues that arise
- Analyze payment histories to calculate maximum bids and final figures, and manage financial aspects of transactions
- Organize and oversee auctions for co-op properties, ensuring all procedural requirements are met
- Facilitate negotiations between involved parties, including attorneys, third-party buyers, and other stakeholders
- Manage challenging interactions while maintaining professional relationships with all parties involved
- Handle a high volume of emails and a large caseload while meeting deadlines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal; foreclosure sales or real estate transactions preferred
- Strong understanding of the foreclosure process and relevant legal requirements
- Excellent mathematical skills for calculating final figures and managing financial aspects
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
