Overview
An organization is seeking an attorney with experience in commercial contracts, engagement letters, and corporate formation issues to serve as fractional General Counsel on a part-time contract basis for a mineral company based in Colorado. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the mineral industry and handling mineral-related contracts. The role can be performed remotely or in a hybrid setting. Residency in the Denver area is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of commercial and related contracts
- Draft and review engagement letters
- Address corporate formation issues
- Provide legal counsel related to mineral industry operations (preferred)
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience handling commercial contracts, engagement letters, and corporate formation
- Experience working both in law firm and in-house legal settings
- Experience in the mineral industry and/or with mineral-related contracts preferred
- Experience working in-house at a public company preferred
- Excellent academic credentials from a U.S. accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in any U.S. state
- Outstanding professional references
Position Details

Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay range for full-time equivalent: $200,000 to $250,000
- Contract pay rates depend on experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market factors, and candidate preferences
