Overview
This contract role is for a General Counsel to participate in a 1-month AI fellowship focused on shaping advanced AI applications in legal work. The fellowship involves working with AI systems designed for contract negotiation and review, particularly in SaaS agreements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises.
- Evaluate AI-generated contract suggestions for accuracy, risk identification, and legal soundness.
- Review and assess AI responses to contract scenarios, providing expert feedback to improve AI model performance.
- Collaborate with product and research teams to refine training data, annotation guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review.
Requirements
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of in-house experience focused on technology transactions, especially SaaS contract review, negotiation, and redlining.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate legal expertise into actionable feedback for AI systems.
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to innovation at the intersection of law and technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to AI, legal technology, or data annotation projects.
- Expertise in risk mitigation strategies within SaaS contracting.
- Record of publications or presentations on legal technology topics.
Compensation and Commitment
- Hourly rate: $80–$105
- Part-time with a flexible schedule
- Minimum commitment: 5 hours per week
- Maximum commitment: 20 hours per week
- Fellowship duration: 1 month
