Overview
A national full-service law firm with over 250 attorneys across 16 offices is seeking an attorney to join its growing General Liability Insurance Defense practice group. This is a fully remote position requiring admission to the Texas bar.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated general liability defense matters in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Attorneys gain meaningful hands-on experience, direct client interaction, and strong mentorship while representing businesses, insurers, and insureds in a broad range of complex litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery demands and responses, and other litigation-related documents
- Communicate directly with clients, providing strategic guidance and regular case updates
- Take and defend depositions; participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
- Participate in court appearances, inspections, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
- Handle a broad range of general liability defense matters, including premises liability and New York Labor Law construction accident cases
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Admission to practice law in Texas is required
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, or construction accident litigation
- Exceptional writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills
