Overview
A national law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices is seeking a General Liability Of Counsel for its San Francisco office. This role offers a flexible hybrid or remote working arrangement and is ideal for experienced litigation attorneys looking to advance their careers by taking on substantive defense litigation responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to support a cohesive team environment
- Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution
- Communicate with clients and provide regular status updates
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in the state of California
- Minimum of 8 years of defense litigation experience
- Experience in catastrophic injury, product liability, construction defect, habitability, transportation, or other general liability matters
- Proficiency in drafting discovery and pretrial motions
- Preferred experience includes cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses, court appearances, depositions, trial experience, and 2nd chair trial participation
- Superior analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $190,000 to $250,000 USD
- Eligibility for discretionary bonuses
