Overview
A leading organization in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech sector is seeking a Head Counsel, U.S. Policy Legal to provide expert legal support and strategic guidance on U.S. government healthcare programs and reimbursement policies. This role involves collaborating across functions to advance priorities, solve complex legal issues, and influence both strategic direction and daily operations in a dynamic environment.
Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $229,600 – $360,800 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead legal support related to U.S. government healthcare programs and reimbursement policies
- Provide legal counsel to the U.S. Public Affairs team on healthcare matters
- Monitor and analyze changes in the governmental healthcare environment and advise on strategic responses
- Develop legal strategies and represent the organization in trade association legal committees
- Drive cross-functional strategy development ensuring alignment with legal requirements
- Conduct complex legal analyses on high-risk issues affecting the organization and related functions
Requirements
- Admitted lawyer with a strong academic background in law
- Professional training in corporate/commercial or pharmaceutical/compliance law, preferably from a prestigious law firm
- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including law firm and in-house counsel roles within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Expertise in U.S. healthcare policy and government reimbursement legal frameworks
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state drug pricing regulations
- Understanding of commercial and regulatory issues related to pharmaceutical product commercialization
- Experience assessing strategic and compliance-related legal risks
