Overview

This role involves a part-time, remote contract engagement as a healthcare regulatory attorney supporting a healthcare software startup.

Applicants must have at least 3+ years of healthcare regulatory experience, specifically with healthcare regulatory frameworks such as Medicaid and Medicare. The ideal candidate is familiar with the rules and processes governing claims, billing, and payment structures between healthcare providers and payors, including private insurers and government programs.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on healthcare regulatory matters, including Medicaid and Medicare frameworks
  • Support understanding and interpretation of rules and processes governing:
    • Claims
    • Billing
    • Payment structures between healthcare providers and payors (including private insurers and government programs)
  • Provide legal support in a contract engagement capacity (including remote work)

Requirements

  • 3+ years of healthcare regulatory experience
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks such as Medicaid and Medicare is required
  • Prior experience working in a full-service law firm, sophisticated boutique firm, or in-house with a healthcare company is preferred
  • Familiarity with processes governing claims, billing, and payment structures between healthcare providers and payors is preferred
  • Outstanding references

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay (annualized, full-time basis equivalent): $160,000 to $200,000
  • Contract pay is based on multiple factors, including work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect competitiveness for the position).
  • Additional benefits:
