Overview

The organization is seeking an attorney with healthcare regulatory experience for a remote contract engagement with an AmLaw 100 global law firm client.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on healthcare regulatory matters, including healthcare frameworks such as Medicaid
  • Support work involving facility licensing and change of ownership
  • Address provider licensure and scope of practice issues
  • Counsel on the corporate practice of medicine
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal writing
  • Navigate sub-regulatory guidance, including board opinions, FAQs, and other interpretive documents

Requirements

  • 3+ years of healthcare regulatory experience
  • Experience with:
    • Medicaid
    • facility licensing and change of ownership
    • provider licensure and scope of practice
    • the corporate practice of medicine
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills, including experience working with sub-regulatory guidance such as board opinions, FAQs, and other interpretive documents
  • Prior experience working in a full-service law firm or sophisticated boutique firm is preferred
  • Outstanding references

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annualized compensation (full-time basis): $150,000 - $180,000
  • Contract pay is based on multiple factors, including work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect competitiveness for the position).
  • Complimentary professional liability insurance coverage is provided to all contract professionals.
  • Contract professionals are usually W2 employees and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week.
  • Benefits-eligible contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD and AD&D.
  • A qualified 401k plan is available.
  • Benefits-eligible attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
