Overview
This role involves serving as an insurance defense attorney within a bodily injury (BI) unit, focusing on motor vehicle insurance defense litigation. The attorney will provide legal representation for insured clients and insurance companies before courts and arbitration panels, managing cases from inception through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Handle litigation cases from start to finish, including preparing legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs
- Negotiate settlements
- Collaborate closely with clients and claims partners to prepare timely litigation reports
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, and medical records
- Assess claim values to determine risk exposure
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Master of Laws (LLM)
- Minimum of two years of general or auto litigation experience
- Admission to practice law in the state of Texas
- Must reside within Texas; primarily remote work with occasional in-person attendance required for litigation events, training sessions, and team meetings
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship (no F-1 CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, H-1B, O-1, E-3, TN visa statuses)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $133,697 - $146,900 per year
- Annual cash incentive payment (Gainshare) up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance
- Bonus up to $15,000 payable after 90 calendar days of active employment
