Overview
A nationally recognized law firm with nearly 250 attorneys across California, Oregon, and Washington, D.C. is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its expanding Housing team. This role focuses on addressing significant housing issues in California through litigation and public policy work.
Responsibilities
- Support litigation efforts related to housing and land use law, particularly in the municipal context
- Draft and argue dispositive motions
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team to handle complex legal matters
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably involving writs of mandate, municipal/public entity litigation, and/or land use law
- Demonstrated interest or background in housing and land use law
- Familiarity or strong desire to work with laws such as the Housing Accountability Act, affordable housing regulations, housing elements, builder’s remedy, and land use litigation
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Strong academic credentials
- Admission to practice law in California
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
- Ability to take initiative and work independently within a collaborative environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $127,500 - $185,000, depending on years of practice and experience
- Hybrid/remote work schedule
